Small offices generally do not want:
- Servers with noisy fans that take up space.
- Servers with moving parts like server hard drives that increase the risk of a mechanical failure.
- High power consumption. Running a 400 Watt server 24hrs x 7 days a week will increase your electricity bill.
- Concerns with reliability due to Internet outage.
Peopleline's IP PBX Appliance solution solves these issues: - Compact at 8" x 6" x 1 1/2", sturdy and fanless.
- Saves electicity, saves bandwidth by leveraging LAN.
- Has 4 integrated FXO
ports to connect existing PSTN trunks.
- Supports all the features of our PBX hosted services and server-based solutions. See Datasheet.
- Includes a music on hold input to connect any analog music source (i.e, CD
player, MP3 player or radio).
- Includes a paging input to connect to paging equipment.
In general
The
Appliance integrates regular analog phone lines with the IP
PBX system.
It alleviates the need to run IP PBX software on a dedicated PC and a
separate gateway supporting FXO ports to save hardware costs, plus
the administrative costs to support such systems.
Hardware and Interconnectivity The appliance contains 4
integrated FXO ports to connect to existing PSTN trunks and the system also
supports IP trunks to connect to Internet Telephony Service Providers that
support SIP. It is a perfect solution for small
to medium sized businesses (SMB) that want to take advantage of VoIP’s benefits
and have the option to keep some or all of their existing phone lines. An example FXO application is to redirect local
calls through the FXO connected land lines, while redirecting international calls via the Internet
using IP trunks to save on long distance. Some businesses might opt to
keep 1 or 2 landlines for redundancy simply to redirect all calls
via FXO ports during Internet outages. The Appliance also supports popular IP phones like Polycom, Snom,
Aastra, and Cisco/Linksys.
Full Feature Set
The system includes all available
features from the hosted PBX service and the server based IP PBX. See Datasheet.
The PBX itself can be managed through a web
interface and remotely via SSH. It also supports SNMP for remote quality supervision
with standard network management tools.
