Line managed voice services are very easy to setup and use:
For
telephone users:
- No
extra hardware is required. A gateway or adapter is optional.
- Connect
your telephone, as normal, to a telephone line.
- People
Line will assign a password or PIN to you for either placing calls
over the Internet.
- Calls
will be delivered to and received from any phone.
- Placing
and receiving calls is performed as usual.
For
Internet, PC, PDA users:
- Connect
a regular telephone, fax machine to an adapter or gateway that
is connected to the Internet or your IP network. OR/
- Download
a softphone onto your Internet connected PC or Pocket PC. OR/
- Connect
a People Line recommended IP Phone to any broadband Internet connection
to place and receive calls.
- We'll
assign a personal virtual phone number to each user for receiving
calls.
- All
your accessories will be configured to point to People Line's
softswitch and gatekeepers to connect your calls to the World.
- The
process of making, receiving and retrieving calls is essentially
the same as using a regular phone.
