required is a regular analog touch tone phone or a fax machine and
Internet connection. The phone can be a cordless phone.

distance when you call back to your home to your office.

It
is very easy to install. With an adapter, the Ethernet cable plugs
into the adapter, then a phone cable connects the adapter to the
phone. Depending on the adapter, you can surf the Net while you're
on the phone. When you make a call People Line connects you to the
World.
Your phone number(s) is stored on your device before it is shipped.
This simplifies your installation further.
Note: If you use an adapter in conjunction with Home i-Line
or Office i-Line services, you can also send and receive faxes (using
Fax to Fax) on the same number. A dedicated fax number costs extra.

Note: An interesting
application of the GS 488 adapter's FXO port is to install the
adapter in another city where you might need to make regular calls.
By connecting a land line in the other city to GS 488's FXO port,
you can call any local phone number in the other city, including
cell phones and land lines, for FREE. It is a terrific way to
save if you need to call several people in the other city - simply
use your local 604 number to make calls in the other city where
the adapter is installed. It is an interesting application for
business people that have offices in other locations.

Most adapters in the market place, including People Line's recommended
Linksys and Grand Stream adapters, will either use standard SIP
or H.323 VoIP protocol. Unless special firmware is installed to
restrict use of an adapter to a particular provider's network, this
means such products will be usable on most IP networks. All People
Line recommended and supported products are open standards based
and non-proprietary.
This means that you can use a Linksys or Grand Stream adapter purchased
from People Line on another network. Why buy something twice if
you need to move for some reason? With People Line, you have greater
independence and better value for the price.
Similarly,
if you have an alternate adapter or IP Phone that is readily available
in the market and want to use it with our service, we may be able
to accommodate this request, provided no proprietary firmware is
installed on the unit.
