Launches Broadband Telephone / Fax Services in Vancouver, BC, via
People Line.

6, 2004 - Vancouver, BC, Canada - POPstar Communications Canada,
a Vancouver based pioneer developer and provider of Internet Protocol
(IP) Telephony, begins marketing broadband telephone and fax services
in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland via People Line.
People
Line uses and combines POPstar's IP telephony technology with traditional
phones to supply alternative local telephone/fax services to Lower
Mainland residential and business customers. POPstar's IP telephony
solutions have been used by large companies in North America, Europe
and Asia for over 10 years.
People
Line's desktop fax services start at $2.00/mo. Phone lines, start
at $9.95/mo and provide local numbers, unlimited local voice and
fax calling, voice mail, call display, call waiting, conferencing,
call forwarding and more. People Line services require ADSL, Cable
or WI-FI broadband access, and they allow Off-Internet (Off-Net)
calling to/from regular phones, cell phones and fax machines.
People
Line customers can combine PC based web phones with integrated email
/ fax services to use their Internet connected PC as a virtual communication
centre without added equipment or dedicated phone line costs. Customers
can also purchase optional IP adapters and phone handsets from People
Line on-line. Russ McDermott of People Line mentions, "All
our solutions are ideal for a second line for family members, a
small business or travelers requiring portable solutions to call
home over the Internet for free."
Customers can have local calling from abroad and create calling
communities of friends, family and colleagues that span the globe,
each person connected by 6-digit numbers. Six-digit numbers are
virtual speed dial extensions that allow people or businesses that
use People Line registered devices to talk peer-to-peer over the
Internet (On-Net) for free. Calls never leave the Internet, bypassing
the regular phone network entirely. Six-digit numbers are provided
to people or companies at no extra charge.
For Off-Net long distance calls to regular phones or fax machines,
People Line offers optional pay-as-you-go long distance calling
plans. The plans provide anytime, anywhere calling and function
like virtual calling cards in that customers only pay for long distance
when it is needed. People Line provides full A - Z country calling
with rates to China, North America and many European countries at
under 4 cents / minute.
People
Line provides desktop Web to Fax, Email to Fax, Fax to Email, e-Commerce
fax and other fax services in addition to a fax machine service.
McDermott states, "We are one of a few Voice over IP providers that
offers comprehensive Fax over IP services. Faxes, along with voice
messages, are accessible from any Internet connected PC. There's
no worry of busy lines, missed fax calls or fax machine expenses
like paper and toner."
People
Line also offers FaxMEE, fax machine email enabling, which allows
fax machines to send and receive Email without requiring a PC or
Internet connectivity. FaxMEE is designed for businesses and people
without Internet connectivity that require a web presence and those
who require the receipt of documents to a fax machine. Faxes sent
as emails do not incur calling charges because Email is free.
Payments
for services are done on-line via an impartial, independent third
party credit card billing agency. McDermott explains, "Customers
credit card information is not held by People Line and kept confidential
with the credit card billing agency. There is no conflict of interest
in billing matters. Customers gain, secure, complete control over
when and how they pay for our services."
